Avoid manual data entry with the Fill Handle.

Instead of doing lots of typing, did you know you can fill a series of cells based on just one manually entered cell? Using the Fill Handle, you can. For example, if you write in a date, and take your mouse to the bottom right-hand corner of the cell, the pointer will turn into a small plus sign. RIGHT click (on older versions of Excel it is LEFT click) and drag down or across. Your data will fill in the cells. You will get options of how the cells are filled. You can choose: the same date, or a series of dates (including or excluding weekends), or a series of months, or years, or … lots of other options.

A spreadsheet with dates in rows, all starting with 1 Jan and using the Fill Handle have been filled differently.
Starting with 1 Jan, you can drag to create different options.

This will work with numbers too. Even words and numbers combined will work, for example Team1, can fill down Team2, Team3 etc.

So next time you have some data to enter, make use of the Fill Handle.
