Translate directly in Excel

You can now translate directly in your Excel spreadsheet.

Use the TRANSLATE function to change one language to another.

=TRANSLATE(text, [source language], [target language])

As usual, inputs in square brackets are optional. If you don’t specify the source language Excel will try and work it out from the text input. The target language will be what is specified by your computer settings if you don’t supply input for that.

I don’t know enough of another language to know how good a job it is doing. With my very basic te reo Māori I could tell it wasn’t always doing what I would have expected, but it would be good enough to get the gist of something.

There is an excellent summary here of how to use this function.
